Dr. Korie Grayson, Women in STEM Advocate

 

Dr. Korie Grayson (She/Her) is a biomedical engineer and diversity advocate for women in STEM. Korie has been awarded the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship, along with numerous other awards. Recently, She is a postdoctoral research position at the University of Michigan. Lastly, Korie is on the planning council for STEMNoire, a holistic wellness retreat for Black women in STEM and is the Diversity Chair for WomenDoingScience, the Instagram account that showcases women in STEM from around the world,.

Audrey Pe, Non Profit Founder

Audrey Pe (@audreyisabelpe) is an incoming freshman at Stanford University and the Founder and Executive Director of WiTech (@witechorg) -- a nonprofit organisation based in the Philippines that aims to educate, inspire, and empower youth to make a difference and break gender barriers using technology. Through WiTech, she has been working on projects at the intersection of technology and education since she founded the organisation at age 15. She is now 19 and on a gap year before heading to Stanford University this fall where she intends to major in Science, Technology, and Society.  Her work with WiTech has garnered her recognition as a 2019 Global Teen Leader, 2018 Zonta Young Women in Public Affairs District awardee, 2019 Zonta Women in Technology Asia-Pacific and many more accolades. A two-time TEDx, ASEAN and UN speaker, she has delivered over 30+ talks!

Tiffany Janzen, Developer & IG Influencer

 

Tiffany Janzen  (She/Her) grew up in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. She has beautifully pivoted her career from non-STEM to STEM.She started at a not-for-profit back in 2017 as a QA Analyst and later transitioned into a Full-stack Developer where she worked for 2 years. She now works for IBM as a Technical Consultant doing software development. In her free time while also building her own brand, Tiffin, on the side. The Tiffin platforms encourage others to get into the Tech industry through public speaking, social media, and an e-commerce site.

Brittany Trinh, STEM Website Expert

 

Brittany (She/Her) is a chemist and web designer for scientists. In her 9-5 she works as an applications chemist in R&D department for a chemical manufacturing company in Houston, TX. Since September 2019, in her 5-9 and weekends, she helps scientists build their online presence with modern and professional web design so that they can start sharing their work with confidence. Jessica Naziri, Top Woman in Tech

 

Jessica (She/her) is a technology and digital media entrepreneur with more than 10 years of experience in journalism, social media, video content strategy, writing and editing. Additionally, she is the founder of TechSesh, a community and sisterhood for young women in tech. My mission is to help create and endorse a growing number of female role models, advocate a more equal gender ratio in the start-up and tech scene, and empower more women leaders in the tech space. Recently, Jessica was named as Inc.com’s top women in tech, bridging the gap between lifestyle and technology. My work has appeared in CBS, CNN, Fox, TechCrunch, The Washington Post, Mashable, The Travel Channel, NPR, Inside Edition, Yahoo!, and Business Insider, and more.

Milene Alves-Eigenheer, International Scicommer

Milene Alves-Eigenheer (She/her) is a Brazilian Science Communicator specialized in ecology and biodiversity. After finishing her Ph.D., she decided to dedicate her spare time to talk about science and academic challenges in an easy language using Instagram and Facebook (@eco.et.al) - this decision brought her a great network, amazing friends, and incredible opportunities. She is also a semi-finalist of FameLab Brazil 2020 and is looking forward to the finals in September! As a typical emotional, Milene believes in the power of emotions to connect with others, collaborating, and creating real changes in small and large scale. Milene believes that social media is a powerful tool to enhance every woman's voice, spreading their messages, and changing the world.

Lorena Soriano, STEMprenuer

Lorena (She/her) is on a mission to #ChangeTheStats in STEM to ensure science and tech products represent the population that uses them. 
Growing up she wanted to be a scientist and doctor but due to the lack of representation, she didn’t think her dream was possible. Instead she pursued a career in corporate America with eight years of consulting, establishing long-lasting relationships with consumer and business clients. Her work with reputable Fortune 500 companies afforded me the privilege to attend nationally-ranked training programs. Lorena is closing the gender gap in STEM through her startup, everyPOINT ONE. 

Arjita Sethi, Serial Entreprenuer

Arjita is the Founder of The Founders Vault: An invite-only collective of value-driven, aspiring and immigrant founders who are supporting one another in building their Billion $$ or people ideas in a sustainable way. Arjita is also the Founder and CEO of Equally: A venture-backed, Silicon Valley, an ed-tech company that is building a universal platform for kids to ignite their curiosity and imagination. Arjita is a co-founder at Startup India Advisory which ran the pilot Milestone Maker international program of NASDAQ entrepreneurial Center in India. They have now built the largest borderless accelerator of India called Indiarath.Arjita also teaches entrepreneurship, inn ovation, and Media at Hult International Business School and San Francisco State University. She sits on the Advisory board of Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center.

Sundas Khalid, Women's Education Advocate & Techie

Sundas Khalid is a Senior Analytical Lead at Google, previously a data scientist at Amazon. Sundas’ story and work is exemplary. She has won awards for her work as a data scientist at Amazon and Google as well as women empowerment award in Seattle. She is a university of washington valedictorian and first-female in her family to graduate university and pursue a career. As an advocate of women’s education, she serves on the board of two non-profits, Pakistani Women in Computing and North Seattle College. To further serve her mission of helping and lifting others, Sundas provides career counseling to students and industry professionals to help them land their dream jobs. Sundas is also a writer and public speaker. In 2019, she keynoted the Citizen Foundation fundraiser that raised over a million dollars to support education of 5,000 underprivileged kids in Pakistan rural areas. Derek Miller, Founder

Derek (he/his) is the founder of Genius Lab Gear, a startup on a mission to create laboratories that researchers love to work in. After finishing his PhD in Materials Science in 2017, Derek got his “dream job” as an R&D scientist at large semiconductor company near Raleigh, NC. Derek began to share his experience moving to industry with his Instagram “@lifeafterthephd” and blogging on geniuslabgear.com. He now manages a team of scientists at his full-time job while growing Genius Lab Gear as his passion project on nights and weekends. His dream is to turn this company into his full-time job to focus on creating better working environments for researchers.
